That was an encouraging word. I really never looked at it that way. I've always understood we were taught not to quench the Spirit. How do we harmonize the Spirit being quenched and what you are explaining.
Also does the holy Spirit ever depart from us while we are letting sin reign which hopefully is less and less and our Christian walk.

Hi Russell. The Holy Spirit will never leave us. We can quench the effectiveness of the Holy Spirit by continuing in our sin and refusing to repent and turn away from it. But the Holy Spirit dwelling within us is the seal of our relationship with the Father through faith in Jesus. This video was speaking within the context of sanctification. We grow in maturity of faith when we allow/cooperate with the Holy Spirit who is actively working to enable us to resist and forsake sin in our life.
